Itelmens of Kamchatka, anyone?
Well, I'm finally done with my paper. Anyone want to know about the Itelmens of Kamchatka, Russia - anyone? Ask me, please! LOL
Well, I would like to point out the irony of cramming, literally, down to the last minute to write my paper, going so far as getting sick *cough, cough* for work and now, because of freakin' tropical storm Ernesto, school and work are closed for 2 days! I am happy about being out of work and all, but couldn't school have been closed 12 hours earlier? Huh? Well, at least now I have uninterupted time to get ahead on all of my reading for next class...
Just a note to the wiser, don't try to work full time, work part time, go to grad school part time, have a relatively good relationship, and try to be sane all at the same time. Not the brightest thing to do.

grad school was a bit hard, balancing everything. but i went into the mindset that it would be hard though and school/work came first. luckily i wasn't in a relationship for most of it. what is even worse than finishing a paper before the hurricane... is being told you are going to have a day off and then getting a wake up call in the morning asking/telling you to be in at noon (2) hours notice. grrrr.

Oh, that sucks a big one. I was very lucky to know that I wasn't going to be called in. Are you essential staff over at your library? LOL

i am considered essential staff, but that is a good thing but unless all hell breaks loose i don't have to work for the county doing distribution, traffic or working in a shelter. actually all miami dade libraries except for the main library were open at 1 today... guess we had to one up broward... they were closed all day today. of course my peeps would say it had something to do about providing excellent customer service and being there when they customers need us... but still, i think it was totally wrong to tell someone they have the day off, then call them 3 hours before they have to be at work and tell them that they DO have to work that day. i'm not bitter. not at all. but it was a slow day and very happy about that. i got lots of work done and tomorrow is my day off so i can get my hair cut, fold my laundry and go to the dolphins game at night. :-)
do you have time for television? we feel this is important....
Sky - Gonna look sharp and smell clean for the game. That's good to know. I'm sure your row mates will appreciate it! ;-)
C&L - LOL I try to get TV in. I'm a big fan of Big Brother this season - Mike Boogie and Will are amazing (Will's hot!). But, I actally don't get much in. I tend to get addicted to TV, so I try not to watch it.
