Well, at least we had a really good talk last night. There were some more issues that did not get ironed out this weekend. It was actually pretty rough. I was crying, Tara was mad, and we were both upset and frustrated. But, but, but - we worked through it and it was pretty productive.

We realised that Tara still has some things that she needs to work on if we are going to have a future together. They were getting in the way of us moving forward, so it's good we were able to talk about them.

Essentially, where we are at right now is trust issues - on both of our parts. (I blogged about this the other day.) I trust Tara, but she is having trouble trusting me (past stuff) and was/is still holding on to the reasons that I hurt her. Understandable? Yes. Productive and conducive to a great future together? No. In fact, it was getting in the way of her allowing me to be hurt and not getting mad at me for feeling the way I did (but, to clarify, she understands now and it was more of a defense mechanism on her part and not really about me. It's all good.). So, we have to figure out how to regain that trust.

For me, I had just brought down my trust walls that I had FOREVER (not related to Tara, just long-standing), but then I was hurt. Even so, I have different walls up and, in due time, they will go back down. So I'm not worried about myself.

All in all, we are making good progress!
