Treehuggers Unite!

I have a confession to make: I have treehugger tendencies. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't go out and hug my trees every morning, like my buddy Sara does (It's true!). But, I'm totally into renewable energy, recycling, etc.
I aspire to leave as small a footprint on this earth as I can. I want to have a home where I can live off the grid; grow the majority of my food in my yard (or patio); and with a compost pile, solar panels, and even a composting toilet (Altho, I will have to get T to come around to that.). My goal is to do this, not in the buttcrack of Montana or Washington, but in an urban area - like Ft. Lauderdale. I know that it can be done!
Anyway, the reason for this post: I'm always searching around the net for anything related and, as such, I found this cool contraption that somebody came up with.
While I'm not planning on having a lawn to mow, I love the idea of a push lawnmower. But, y'know, it's a little bit of work to mow the lawn like that, 'specially if it's bigger than a postage stamp. And, with the heat steady rising the way that it is, I'm glad that somebody came up with this more convenient push mower. (See the original article here.)
Cheers!

Saavy Sunshine...This is great. And very funny. My sister lives in Ft. Lauderdale and she is super tree-huggy. Our BIG issue when she moved down was how to get a hand churning composter that would fit on her balcony. She couldn't find one ANYWHERE in miami...
thanks for linnking us!!!!!!
Too funny! When I got my own place in FTL, I searched for a small compost bin. Couldn't find one either, so I ended up using a rubbermade bin with holes drilled in it! T was not happy - at all...
