Grrrr! Belly dance rocks!
Stupid me! I had a nice post on my belly dancing class with pictures and all and what did I do, shut the damn computer off!
Anyway, class was good. It was a bit different then I expected. I thought it would be more teaching and less watching, but it wasn't. We did cover some basic moves and I am a bit sore. THis is a great ab work out and, surprisingly, my legs are fatigued. I am going to practice these moves everyday so that I'll be in fine form for next week's class!
The class is in the style that I am interested in - Egyptian, but the instructor also includes other forms, like Salsa and such. This is the form that you would normally see if you were to go watch a show. My friend does tibal, but I'm not so sure about that. They dress weird, they have crazy tattoos and they're sometimes furry (hairy underarms) - this is not a problem, in and of itself (I have been known to be hairy occasionally - OK, often), but it shows how they are.
See, doesn't she look odd?
I haven't found a good pick of a traditional dancer, but you know what they look like...
